Personality: Bala is very formal and reserved. He tends to be shy until he gets to know a person. Once he gets to know you, he becomes a respectable man with an uncanny ability to manipulate other peoples toughts through very simple questions and responses. His favorite thing to do is read, but if there are no books available and he has a spare moment he will simply smoke instead. Although a heavy smoker, his lungs are in perfect condition as he is a vampire and is pretty much immune to humanoid diseases.

Special abilties: Ever since Bala was 22 and became a vampire, he has been immortal. He is also immune to normal disease, and can hear and see exceptionally well. He can locate blood from up to 3 miles away.

Backround: Bala had a very troubled childhood. When he was 6 years old, his parents died in a fire and Bala was left to fend for himself, as they were homeless. The same day, he was found by a man named Seth Amunra. Seth Amunra, who he from then on called "Brother", plucked him off the streets and took care of him. When he was 18, Seth tried to kill him as a sacrifice for a Vampire. Bleeding from the shoulder and with a broken leg, Bala crawled out into the swampy backyard of their home. The vampire that was meant to kill him appeared and saved his life for seemingly no reason at all. This Vampire, called Blaine Blackshard, was furious with Seth for attempting to kill Bala and killed him. Bala lived with Blaine until he was 22. On his 22nd Birthday, Bala was turned into a Vampire for Bala's "safety". Later on in his life, Blaine was attacked by vampires and killed. Bala swore revenge on them, and began training himself in the art of Vampirism. When Bala learned the truth about being a vampire (that you were immortal until you were killed by another Vampire, that you were incredibly strong and fast, that you could go out in the sunlight anyway, etc.) he decided that it was part of the natural life cycle of a vampire to be killed at some point, and instead of focusing on revenge, he focused on finding an apprentice. He is still searching for one today, but has become extremely skilled in Vampirism.

Bala lay back on the cool grass and watched the night sky flicker in and out of existence behind wispy shadows of clouds. All around him he could here crickets, mice scurrying around, and even the gentle hum of electricity from the street lights. He heard the sound of footsteps approaching, sniffed the air, and realised that it was a human. He sat bolt upright and licked his pale lips. He moved with inhuman speed, and soon was behind the human. It was a girl in her 20's, walking with a nervous gait through the park of the Vampire city. "It's not safe here at night you know." he hissed in her ear. She dropped the books she was carrying and yelped. Bala choked back laughter. If he wanted dinner tonight, he had to keep a straight face...
